2016 PINOT NOIR DOMAINE LOIS LOUISE “COTE SUD”

Tasting notes: Cote Sud is our “Pinot Noir with a ‘blow away’ bouquet.” Ronn Wiegand: “Exceptional quality (⁕⁕⁕⁕⁕) ‒ Deep purple red color. A powerful, rich wine with great promise ahead. It is young and its components not yet fully integrated—as is typical in wines of its depth and structure. It has ultra-ripe fruit character (blackberry, cherry, black licorice), layers of oak complexity (toast, cedar, tobacco, oak), rich flavors, plenty of tannin, and a long, full finish. Exceptional quality, yes, but I would extend its optimal drinking window from 2024 to 2030.”
